How To Train Your Dragon One

So the last movie in the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy came out so I wanted to write about each and every one of the movies. So for this post I wanted to talk about the first one (Spoilers btw)

The first movie is beautiful the animation is amazing and it’s done wonderfully. We are introduced to Hiccup and he’s a viking. His village is all about killing dragons and when he is faced to a deadly dragon he isn’t able to kill it. He and the dragons form a bond due to the dragon being unable to fly without Hiccup. The story continues on from that and it’s really interesting to see. They put so much detail in the movie and the characters and stories are amazing.

Hiccup and Toothless bond is really something to see and it’s so sweet. The final battle between Hiccup and Toothless with the red death is really cool and the way they defeat it ties really well into the stories. The things I appreciated the most was that Hiccup was actually harmed in the battle. It’s really uncommon for a kids movie to make the main character get hurt in the final battle and even more so have them become disabled. Hiccup losing his leg also made him and Toothless even closer I believe.

How To Train Your Dragon is amazing through and through. It has a compelling story with beautiful animation. The movie is part of my childhood and I think that anyone would enjoy it. The music and the scenes really bring you into the story and when Hiccup and Toothless first truly fly you really feel the excitement and joy of flying on a dragon. The scene where Hiccup and Toothless do the touch thing really tugs your heartstring. If you haven’t watched the movie you really should and if you have tell me if you liked it or not!

Journal 3

So I’ve recently bought the Journal 3 from Gravity Falls. (If you didn’t know I absolutely love this show) I wanted to talk a little about it.

It has so many Easter eggs and it goes in depth on things on the show and it is so cool. They have codes in them that you can. decode (me and my friend are doing it together) it has such cool art and it goes into things about Bill. It reveals so much and it also had a lot of sentimental value.

The book contains a lot and there is a part where Dipper writes in it and goes through all his adventures. It was a lot of fun to go through the adventures that I saw on TV. But the book goes through than just what we saw on TV it goes more in depth and adds details that they don’t tell you on the show.

It also has a part where it goes through Stanfords adventures when he traveled through the portal. It is really interesting to see what he was doing while in the dimensions and it has such cool stories and adventure. He also talks about what he thinks of everyone once he comes back and all the things that was going on before Weirdmageddon.

There is so much information in this journal and if you’re a fan of the shows you should get it. If you felt that you didn’t get enough closure it really wraps it all up. It’s ending is super sweet and while you read through everything you will get giddy and go through a range of emotions.

Thanks for reading!

Spoilers

There are some people who love spoilers. I personally dislike spoiler I think it takes from the experience of what has been spoiled. It doesn’t matter what it is a movie, tv show, or book when something gets spoiled when I see the movie or tv show or read the book and I can’t be surprised with what I see because I have been spoiled. Some people go looking for spoilers and go through a lot of lengths to find them but I’m not one of those people.

I go through a lot of lengths to avoid spoilers. In a couple weeks HTTYD 3 is coming out. But the thing is it already came out in other countries and people were posting it on Pinterest. So I had to log out of my Pinterest and now I’m using another account. It spoiled some things for me and I think I would have really loved the surprise when I watched it in theaters. But I know I’ll still enjoy the movie a lot and it didn’t give away something super important to the plot of the movie so I’m all right with it. (Also I actually ended up really liking the things on my other Pinterest account)

Another one was Avengers Infinity War. That one was huge. Everyone was talking about it and I watched it a week after it came out in theaters and yet everyone was already talking about it and I saw one spoiler. That one spoiler left me at edge the whole movie. But the movie is still amazing and I still felt a shock when the spoiler happened.

That’s the thing I still hate spoilers and to some degree they do sorta dampen what happens when it happens but surprisingly it’s not that bad. When you really love a movie, tv show, or book in the end it will still have an impact and there is still so much more to the story than just one spoiler. Thanks for reading!

Apocalypse

Obviously no one wants the apocalypse to happen but if it does it has the potential to be pretty awesome. Hear me out. There are tons of myths in many cultures that talk about the apocalypse and all of it is that if there ever was an apocalypse there are some things that will happen.

Well one popular one is Ragnorock. When the world ends the gods of Asgard will have a huge fight and it would end the world and later the world would be reborn. So if the world ended we would see all the gods fighting with the giants and honestly that sounds a bit interesting.

Well Merlin is stuck in a tree and when the world is coming to an end he would be releases and do his magic business.

In Egyptian mythology a big snake is gonna eat the sun.

There are a couple myths in different religions that some hero is awakened from his deathbed when the world is in need.

There are many myths that talk about the end of the world and what would happen. I think as much as it might suck it would be a bit cool if all these were true. Who doesn’t want to go out with a bang. If its a zombie apocalypse I would love to see Merlin doing some magic against them. If it had to do with space I think it would be funny to see all the old time heroes try and fight a comet. I would admittedly never want any of this to happen but well I did think about it while writing so what do you think? How interesting do you think the apocalypse may be?

Reflection SBC

This is the final challenge of this SBC so it’s all about review. This first half is just answering questions about my posts.

  • How many weeks of the challenge did you participate in?  The amount of weeks of challenges I participated in were 9 weeks.
  • How many posts did you write in the ten week period? The amount of posts I wrote over the ten week period is 10.
  • How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers, or other visitors? The amount of comments I received were zero. Usually this is something to me embarrassed of but honestly it’s my fault. I’m terrible at commenting on other people’s blogs so I don’t get any comments in return.
  • Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why? The post I enjoyed the most writing was my Six of Crows post. It was the free write challenge and it was on a topic that I loved and I had a lot of fun writing it.
  • Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog? The web tool is used to show creativity non my blog was Compfight and Unsplash to post images.
  • What are your plans for your blog now? Will you keep posting? My plans for my blog now is to post weekly on topics I enjoy. It’ll all be random topics but that’s the plan!

This is the second half which I ask someone on the outside to review my blog. Soooo the winner of reviewing my blog is (drums everyone)…MY DAD!

  1. What were your first impressions of this blog? My first impression on your blog is that it seems to have a lot of information and were full of long paragraphs. While I was scrolling through it a lot of the post seems to have a lot of things written down.
  2. What captured your attention? The images captured my attention.
  3. What distracted you on the blog? I would say the background did. It didn’t distract me while I actually read some of your posts but while scrolling sometimes it made it hard to pay attention to the categories on the side(widgets).
  4. What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog? I would say to write more catchy/fun titles. Your titles are a bit bland. They are accurate and blunt but they’re not something that a reader would be pulled towards.

Well, give a big round of applause for my dad. I mildly annoyed him by asking pretty late at night but he didn’t seem to hate my work so that’s good. (Also, sorry dad I didn’t take your advice on the title)

Six of Crows

I finished the Six of Crows series and it was amazing. It’s not exactly for the faint of heart but if you can handle a bit of blood and you love thrilling fantasy books this book is for you. If you have interest I suggest you just stop reading this post and go read the book because it is fun to go in blind. But for those who maybe want to know a little about it first let me tell you about it.
Six of Crows is set in Ketterdam: a place with merchants and the main profit are from trades but that’s only a skim of it. Ketterdam is full of gangs, thieves, and thugs and that’s what this story is really about. This story is about 6 people getting offered an impossible job and they accept for the money. You see them go on this journey to break out this prisoner held in the Ice Court. It’s never been broken into and their security is impeccable. The most interesting thing about this story is the fact that they’re not heroes. They’re not doing it to save the world, they’re doing it because they go a lot of money offered and they could benefit from it so that’s why they take the job.
There are six main characters in the story and it’s important to get to know them. There are six main characters. Kaz, Inej, Nina, Wylan, Jesper, and Matthias. Their all crucial to the mission and all are deadly and have multiple layers. Their not all good people, but you can’t help but like them. Kaz is ruthless, deadly, and smart. He runs the gang (The Dregs) that is the most important in this story. Inej is the spy of the Dregs. She’s silent and deadly and collects and keeps Kaz’s secrets. Nina is the Grisha of the group. Grisha is people who have abilities that are fantasy like. Nina has control over the body and she is extremely powerful. Wesper is a rich merchant’s son who ran away. He’s a lot more useful he seems and proves to have layers that make him useful. Jesper is the sharpshooter of the group. He’s social and he’s great with emotions and is able to make terrible times lighter. Matthias is the only one who knows around the ice court and is important to actually pull even any part of it off. He’s not a criminal though like the others. He hates everything the others represent and doesn’t like working with them but he needs to help them. You see the six of them work together and see them grow. They each have complex stories behind them and all are strong characters.
This story gets straight into the action. But alongside it all, you get to know about each of the characters. The way everything goes down is interesting because every surprise is unexpected and you can never guess the way things may end up. This story is different and a bit extreme. The characters are great and the action is exciting and different. This story is fantasy and adventure and so if you like stories like that and find anything interesting from what I said here to check this book out!

Hi, I’m Mina and this weeks SBC is all about science. I’m gonna go through the alphabet and name words related to science that start with the same letter I’m on.

A: Altitude (the height of an object or point in relation to sea level or ground level)

B: Big Bang (the rapid expansion of matter from a state of extremely high density and temperature that according to current cosmological theories marked the origin of the universe.)

C: Chromosphere (a reddish gaseous layer immediately above the photosphere of the sun or another star. Together with the corona, it constitutes the star’s outer atmosphere)

D: Darwin (Scientist most known for his theory of evolution)

E: Electron (a stable subatomic particle with a charge of negative electricity, found in all atoms and acting as the primary carrier of electricity in solids)

F: Frequency (the rate at which a vibration occurs that constitutes a wave, either in a material (as in sound waves), or in an electromagnetic field (as in radio waves and light), usually measured per second)

G: Galaxy (a system of millions or billions of stars, together with gas and dust, held together by gravitational attraction)

H: Heliosphere (the region of space, encompassing the solar system, in which the solar wind has a significant influence)

I: Instrument (a tool or implement, especially one for delicate or scientific work)

J: Jupiter (Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the Solar System)

K: Kuiper Belt (a region of the solar system beyond the orbit of Neptune, believed to contain many comets, asteroids, and other small bodies made largely of ice)

L: Light (the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible)

M: Mars (Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun)

N: Nebula ( cloud of gas and dust in outer space, visible in the night sky either as an indistinct bright patch or as a dark silhouette against other luminous matter)

O: Orbit (the curved path of a celestial object or spacecraft around a star, planet, or moon, especially a periodic elliptical revolution)

P: Photon (a particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation. A photon carries energy proportional to the radiation frequency but has zero rest mass)

Q: Quantum (a discrete quantity of energy proportional in magnitude to the frequency of the radiation it represents)

R: Radiation (the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles that cause ionization)

S: Satellite (an artificial body placed in orbit around the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication)

T: Telescope (an optical instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer)

U: Universe (all existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos)

V: Vacuum (a space entirely devoid of matter)

W: Wavelength (the distance between successive crests of a wave, especially points in a sound wave or electromagnetic wave)

X: X-Ray (an electromagnetic wave of high energy and very short wavelength, which is able to pass through many materials opaque to light)

Y: Y-Axis (the secondary or vertical axis of a system of coordinates, points along which have a value of zero for all other coordinates)

Holiday Celebration (SBC)

This weeks SBC is all about Holidays so I’m here to name a few and how my family celebrates the holiday!

Thanksgiving (November 22)

This holiday is the most recent. I love thanksgiving my family and family friends usually get together and we have a big thanksgiving meal. We eat desserts and while the parents talk the kids go and play games.

Christmas (December 25)

Christmas is a very popular holiday. I live in Hawaii so we don’t have a typical white snowy Christmas but we still have the Christmas charm around here. My family gathers in the morning and we usually make pancakes or crepes for breakfast. We open presents and afterwards we call our relatives to say Merry Christmas. We usually stay home that day and  have some sort of special dinner that we make.

New Years (January 1)

On New Years we eat at a restaurant and then around 11 we go to the beach to watch the fireworks. We then walk around the city a bit and afterwards we go home. We’re not that big on resolution but my parents do still urge us to think of them.

Halloween (October 31)

Every Halloween I dress up one way or another. Our school does this Halloween parade thing where we walk around campus and the parents come and take pictures of us. During school we pretty much have this whole free day. We do have “classes” but they let us have free time. In the afternoon we have a class party and the kids just eat pizza and hang out with each other while the teacher plays a movie. After school I hang out with my friends and sometimes it’s a sleepover and sometimes it’s trick or treating. Overall it’s a fun holiday.

Those are some holidays I wanted to talk about. My family celebrates more but these are the ones that are more big in my house hold. Comment down below your favorite holiday!

My School Work

So for this post I am suppose to post about works I’m proud of and so here they are!

So this a drawing I drew in art. We were just suppose to draw something because it was the first class and so I decided to draw the Empire State Building. I think I did pretty well on and I like the drawing so here it is in my portfolio category.

This was a big project for Math. This is only part of it the real thing has about twenty slides full of information. We had to make a slideshow to teach the grade below us how to use this website Banzai. It took a lot of time and I was worried about it because I was the last to finish. But my group got a good grade on it and it went smoothly.

This assignment is to put work your proud of onto a post. This is a play/project we had to do in Social studies about the Salem Witch Trials. I’m not to sure if it’s completely accurate but it was a ton of fun to do and part of me is super proud of it because in the end it was all improve and this is just something we used to turn in. We also got a A on it so overall it was a win win situation.

This was a slideshow we had to make in technology about the bombing of Nagasaki. This was a project for that class and I had a lot of fun making it with my group. We did a good grade on it and I think we were able to pack a lot of information. Of course their is more information but either way I’m proud of this assignment.

I swear I’m not putting so much SS on purpose it’s just we have a lot of projects in this class. So this is a project for Social Studies about the Cherokee Tribe. This is pretty much just the notes we all had to put it on the project but I sadly don’t have a photo for that. But I think my group did well and our poster was very descriptive.

So those are the works I’m proud of for trimester one. Thanks for reading!

The people didn’t react immediately half in a daze eventually jolted up with determination and anger on their faces. However before they could act the aliens released robotic ladybugs in a massive number. It infected every video game, tv, device, or phone  in town. It hypnotized anybody that was looking at a screen. The people who weren’t looking at a screen so what happened to everyone else and were devastated….

Alright that’s all I’m giving you for this story. Continue the story in the comment section below. Don’t forget to add emojis!
